Uniti is keen to promote car-sharing, whether privately or in funded schemes. It aims to be the first company to fully utilize ‘digital twinning’, which allows remote, localized production facilities anywhere in the world to make Uniti One cars from the ground up, without the need to ship large parts – as is the traditional method.
Each Uniti One model is designed to maximize parts re-use. for others in the range, in order to minimize the need for separate tooling and production, therefore reducing the company’s carbon footprint. It’s hoped that the necessary crash tests can be carried out digitally, to save waste.
The newly setup company,Uniti on Monday has launched its three-seater electric vehicle Unity One at a price of 15,100 pounds with Three exterior colors are being offered for the One: bright metallic Scandium, dark Graphite and warm Titanium, each with a satin finish. Aero discs matching the body color cover the car’s wheels in order to improve efficiency.
The cheapest (£15,100) version of the electric vehicle Unity One Uniti One gets the 12kWh battery, along with LED daytime running lights, power-adjustable mirrors, a rear-view camera, rear LED lights and the panoramic roof with integrated sun visor. Options include full LED headlights, a heated driver’s seat, the collision-avoidance system and an enhanced six-speaker audio system with amplifier.
It has a choice of two driving modes – City and Boost – allow the driver to prioritize efficiency and maximum range in the first instance, and sharper acceleration and handling in the second. Two battery sizes will be offered for the Uniti One: 12kWh and 24hWh, with a maximum range of 93 miles (150 kilometers) claimed for the smaller and 186 miles (300 kilometers) for the larger. Standard safety equipment includes mandatory features such as a driver’s airbag, anti-lock brakes, stability control, tyre-pressure monitoring, while what Uniti calls an ‘Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)’ is available as an option, incorporating collision-avoidance technology, lane-departure warning and a speed-limit indicator.
