Tesla electric cars
It was 2016 when Elon musk first announced to launch Tesla elecric cars in India. since then after several missed deadlines over the last four years, the electric car maker is now expected to make its India debut in 2021.
Tech pioneer Elon Musk’s clean energy and electric vehicle company Tesla will start operations in India early next year, confirmed Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
He also iterated that Tesla will begin its India journey by setting up its own sales network, and will evaluate local assembly or manufacturing at a later date, based on market response.
With plan to ship vehicles as CBUs initially, Tesla could very well look at quickly bringing in its other models to India after the Model 3.The completely built units will be imported and likely to be priced Rs 55 lakh onwards.
Tesla’s Model 3 is not only the most affordable version to date when rolled out in 2017, but it has also emerged as the world’s best-selling electric car. The entry level is available in the following variants – Standard Range (RWD), Standard Range Plus (RWD), Long Range (AWD) and Long Range Performance (AWD). Its battery size ranges from 50 kWh to 75 kWh, and driving range from 381 km to 580 km. Tesla Model 3 dominates electric car market in US.
Launch of Tesla electric cars in Indian market will definitely bring momentum in Indian electrical vehicle market. Many Indian companies are working on electric cars. Due to indigenous development definitely those cars will be more affordable.
