Nissan as LEAF is a compact five-door hatchback battery electric vehicle (BEV). Nissan LEAF was launched in December 2010 in Japan and the United States and in 2011 in Europe and other markets. This is the first electric car designed for mass markets. The electric motor that replaces the conventional IC engine. Nissan Leaf offers a totally different driving experience with quiet and responsive acceleration.
This model is now in its second generation. Nissan Leaf is a good deal for budget-minded eco-activists. Global sales totaled over 450,000 Leafs by December 2019. The United States is its largest market, followed by Japan and Europe. The European market was led by Norway.
Nissan Leaf has won the 2010 Green Car Vision Award, the 2011 European Car of the Year, the 2011 World Car of the Year, the 2011–2012 Car of the Year Japan and ‘Electric Car Of The Year’ at the Company Car Today CCT100 2019 awards.

Nissan Leaf promises to be one of the safest cars out there. The safety equipment includes Intelligent Lane Intervention, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Around View Monitor with moving object detection and Emergency Assist for pedal misapplication.
Interior, Comfort, and luggage space
The well-assembled and uniform textures of trims look nice. The SL model offers an optional light-gray leather interior with a matching dash pad that breaks up the monotony. There is a hybrid gauge cluster where a large analog speedometer is located next to a 7.0-inch digital readout that can be reconfigured to show a variety of menus.
The Leaf’s seats are deeply cushioned and comfortable; the spacious rear seat offers plenty of room for adult riders, too. The cargo capacity to be among the best in its class.

Nissan offers a basic warranty package that covers the same amount of time as the rest of the Nissan lineup.

Nissan Leaf availability in India –
Nissan Leaf is not yet launched in India. It is expected to launch in India by next year Feb / March. It could be priced around 30 lakh. Nissan fixed the UK prices for the Nissan Leaf e+ with the range-increasing 62 kWh battery: the starting price is 35,895 pounds (€40,379), including the state subsidy of 3,500 pounds.
