Ola electric scooter

Ola electric scooter – Ola Cabs was founded in 2010 as an online cab aggregator in Mumbai and is now based in Bangalore. Ola Cabs (stylized as OLΛ) is an Indian ridesharing company, offering services that include peer-to-peer ridesharing, taxi and food delivery.

Ola Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd, the electric vehicle arm of Ola, has acquired Dutch electric scooters manufacturer Etergo BV. It is based out of Amsterdam. The Bengaluru-based company will enter into the electric two-wheeler market, both globally and nationally. First exciting product in the form of a high range electric scooter will be launched in the year 2021.

Still in the concept stage, Ola plans to set up manufacturing facilities locally in India.

This acquisition expected to strengthen Ola Electric’s engineering and design capabilities, considering Etergo team’s vehicle development experience with globally reputed automotive giants including Tesla, GM, Ferrari, BMW and Jaguar.

Etergo has built an electric scooter, the AppScooter, but hasn’t yet initiated manufacturing. Etergo seems to be inspired by Vespa. Etergo team has put significant efforts for making product full of feature and comfortable. Etergo claims the AppScooter will go 240km on a single charge. The secret here could be that it gets three modular removable batteries.

This ola Electric scooter will be taking over Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and Okinawa iPraise. Company is going to pitch it as premium Electric scooter segment.
