Tata Punch, first micro SUV from home grown auto giant Tata Motors. It was initially called the HBX, is now officially rechristened as the Punch. Company had unveiled this product in Auto Expo 2020 as the HBX concept. This product is developed under impact 2.0 design language. Name Punch suggests an energetic vehicle which can go anyhere.
This is a new vehicle that will placed in the Tata hierarchy between the Tiago NRG and the Nexon and will be the smallest SUV in the lineup. This micro SUV design is inspired from Harrier. It will be based on the same platform of Altroz.This vehicle will be definitely sub 4m may be around 3.8-3.9m in the length. This will be fourth product from company in SUV family and it has widened company’s SUV portfolio.
Tata Punch Exterior
Vehicle looks very stylish and it is clearly visible it has got inspiration from harrier. It has muscular surfacing with athletic looks.The front is similar to the Harrier with sleek LEDs on the top and a tri-arrow design where the headlamps will be placed.
The imposing bumpers hint at aggressive body cladding on the production model. The Punch will get 16-inch alloy wheels as well as a dual-tone exterior paint options, which will give a floating roof effect. As on date company has revealed only single image.
Tata Punch Engine
The Tata Punch will be powered by an 86PS/113Nm 1.2-litre petrol engine (from the Altroz). It should be offered with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.
Tata could also introduce an all-electric power train of the Punch some time down the line, similar to how it launched the Nexon EV and Tigor EV.
Tata Punch Features & Safety
The micro-SUV could feature a 7-inch touch screen system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, auto AC and rear parking camera. As like other Tata vehicles it is well understood Punch will have strong build and it may come with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD.
The vehicle will be priced very aggressively and we may find its price starting in the range of 5.5 – 6 lakhs (Ex-showroom).Company has not announced an number yet.
Tata Punch will compete with Mahindra KUV100, Maruti Ignis and Renault Kiger, definitely launch of Punch will stir this segment. Tata Punch is definitely stylish urban tredy SUV and it’s launch is expected in October this year.
